Has anyone else out there heard that? If I hear it one more time from someone in the medical field, I’m going to POP them upside the head. This isn’t a rash. It isn’t melanoma in-situ or even carcinoma (not as serious as melanoma) this is STAGE ONE…in a series of stages 1 to 4 of CANCER! It’s why I joined this group. I am sure there are many others like us diagnosed with Stage 1 out there that have heard this and are tired of hearing it. “Well at least you’re only stage 1” I’d rather be stage NONE. My questions; Many stage 3 & 4’s started out as stage 1 www.saxtown.com, my new friend Michael, now widow’d to Amanda (to eternal Lord April ‘06) she started out stage 1..don’t worry we got it all…2 years later…she’s got 3-6 months to live. It’s not just stage 1..it’s CANCER and it’s melanoma. The cells are there…how do you not stress about it..to weaken your immune system so you don’t set the environment for cells to mutate and grow…we’re stressing already about having gotten the cancer to begin with. The Dr’s that you read so often were WRONG, or missed something..or call it a recurrence.

Yeah I think some people try to see the positive side of things and don’t realize it doesn’t come across so well. I was nervous about the cancer coming back and mentioned that to someone and they said, well, at least you will know what to expect. I wanted to knock them up side the head.
Well taken I am with you all the way.
Will It could be worse thing does not cut it. Cancer is Cancer. They have never walked in our shoes, will never know how it feels.
So it is our Job! to come back with some thing like ” Would you like to change places and have me tell you it could be worse!” Sorry Off the Soap Box.
Hug all around.
One more thing I had stage 1 Breast Cancer. Cancer is Cancer. As you have heard this befor ! I just have a little cold. LOL
Cold is cold!

It’s funny, I went to my derm today to do my 3 month follow up from surgery in April for stage 1 melanoma. She asked my about my visit with the oncologist. I told her that he said same thing—it was JUST STAGE 1 and not to worry so much. My dermatologist was horrified by his comments! She stopped me in my tracks and reminded me that I had a cancer removed and that is nothing to be taken lightly! She had to remove 3 more moles today, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that nothing else shows up!
I understand how you feel…all the best!
